First, I dont believe in allah...no matter what anyone says, this is not the living God of Christianity. In todays climate, especially in London, where radical, violent followers of islam are beheading people in the streets, organizing large, angry protests threatening death to infidels and basically anyone who isnt like them...for the safety and security of other citizens, it is not prudent to allow people to completely shield their identity in public. However, the freedom to exercise ones religion unhindered is the cornerstone of liberty in the free world. So Im on the fence about the burka. Second, although I give no ear to the teachings of islam, I wish Christian women would take a lesson in this ladys well-articulated argument for modesty, chastity and dignity. Its too bad that many so-called Christian women dont embrace or practice these virtues. I have often failed in this area as well. Finally, of all people, daughters of the one true living God should be so adamant and vocal about our faith as this woman.
