First, I want to post this article about a $10 million dollar project coming to Moodys industrial park. Important things on the agenda are: Approve lowest bid for sewer improvements for new library, civic center and splash park for $149K Approval to purchase 38 acres of land, 2 lots and 2 80foot wide easements located behind the Bojangles on Moody Parkway. Cost is $140,000.00 plus survey and title work. Approval to hire new full time employee in administration as administrative assistant. We also have a special call meeting Thursday, August 14. Here are the details as posted: Notice is hereby given that the Moody City Council will hold a Special Call Meeting at Moody City Hall, 670 Park Avenue, Moody, Alabama at 6:00 P.M. on the 14th day of August, 2014. This meeting is open to the public and all interested persons are invited to attend. Public hearing will be held to hear comments from the public for and against the entrance by the governing body into a Development Agreement (the “Development Agreement”) with Birmingham Realty Company (“BRC”) to provide certain tax rebates and incentives pursuant to Amendment 772 of the Constitution of the State of Alabama to BRC. AGENDA 1. Consider Resolution authorizing the firm of Hill, Weisskopf & Hill, PC to initiate validation proceedings for the obligations of the Development Agreement and the Warrant described below. 2. Consider entering into the Development Agreement with Birmingham Realty Company subject to validation by the Circuit Court of St. Clair County. 3.
