First and foremost Id like to start out by stating that I am Black, and I am not racist against any other person(s) in any way shape or form. I grew up in the hood. Ive seen gangbangers drug dealers and have had a gun pointed at me myself on at least three separate occasions. I live in the south where people still openly claim racisim and some try to closet it. That being said I will get to my point. If anyone I grew up with ran in an aggressive manner at cop weather they were black or white and the officer thought their life as in danger that person would be shot. I myself would have been shot if it were me and I am far from a gangster and have no police record whatsoever. If your job requires you risk you life on a frequent basis your first instinct is to protect yourself. Point blank period. Now since one party was black and the other white it automatically becomes a racial issue and justice isnt served because the officer isnt in trouble. If the roles were reversed and this was a black cop and the victim were white then the black community would rally for the said officer to be freed with no charges but since its not the rally is instead a riot which would put more lives at risk and make everything that the black community was preaching about a compete waste of time. You can not beg argue and preach about wanting equality when you wouldnt follow the same course of action if the role were reversed. It makes each and every argument after this seem weak and pointless. The thing that holds us back the most in these types of situations and what makes our arguments invalid is matters exactly as I explained above. If the roles were reversed the officer was black and the victim was white he should get off because he is simply doing his job but since the cop is white and and victim is black the officer should be punished. This is not equally this is ridiculous stupidity making our people look simple minded, one-sided, and idiotic. All lives have value the color of a persons skin has no merit to his or her character. A villain is a villain and a hero regardless of their skin color. When the would as a hole finally figures out this overly simply concept that is when we will have true equality. -signed, A Man Who Sees No Color
