First attempt at a Dirrogate - a Digital Surrogate of a person (living or dead) in your living room, seen via Augmented Reality - as described in the hard science novel Memories With Maya In this experiment, Im holding an android phone in one hand, while filming its screen via an iphone in the other hand. On the floor is the cover of the book, Memories with Maya. The Augmented Reality system identifies the image on the cover and superimposes the Digital Character... merging her into the living room as if shes really there. Next steps - improving the Skin rendering to photorealism quality. This will happen as hardware gets more powerful in phones/ AR glasses. Models from Infinite-Realities® shows what can be achieved. Then its on to AI programming.. to simulate a typical day in the life of a Digital Surrogate- if the surrogate is a is of a non-living person.
