First day back for the new year and what an awesome day with the crew! We were fired up and into it. After good rains the weeds have been laughing at us while we were away, so we started the day playing catch up. But applying some solar power weed killing (solarisation) certainly saved some time. Thank goodness for the recycled and donated plastic sheets! Dane got stuck into the nursery potting up Mint by the hundreds ready for the new lines and Anaïs prepped and planted out a new Grapevine trellis with cuttings propagated from a local Isabella vine. Should bare fruit in a couple of short years. Yum! We started pulling tasty Madagascar Beans from the vines, and harvested bundles of Shallots, the last Beetroot for the season and Burdock roots as we cleared beds ready for the next crop. Exciting times from the farm. Stay tuned. :)
