First, let me say that in my view it is important for us to support films like this. Second, a dialogue based movie presents special challenges. Third, we had an “interesting” experience at the movie. The person sitting to my left appeared to be in her 20’s, (and somehow missed the message about not using your cellphone once the movie started; I was trying to be contained and after ten times of raising my left hand to shield my eyes from her cellphone light she finally got the mess because on the 11th time I would have left no doubt about the message) and she reacted to the violence in the movie ( Rev. James Reeb from Boston, and Viola Liuzzo from Michigan) as though she were seeing it for the first time. Geri and I, and the folks to our right, were our contemporaries, and we of course were remembering and comparing what we remembered with what was portrayed on the screen. Without picking an excessive number of nits, the one I have to pick is the same one Annette Gordon Reed identified, namely the historical inaccuracy of who interacted with J. Edgar Hoover to authorize the wiretapping of Dr. King. It was not LBJ as presented in the movie. https://youtube/watch?v=x6t7vVTxaic
