GANDHISTAN:----Today Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse,a hindu anarchist from Hindu Right Organisations ! Just after his killing, people from various walks of life came out schemes to honour the Mahatmas memory. There are many, initiated but could not taken up throughout the country. In the archives in Delhi, Historian, Essayist, Author, Ram Chandra Guha had found several newspaper clippings published after the death of Mahatma.. One of the clippings is related to Bihar to honour Gandhis memory. On March 3, 1948 issue of a newspaper -NEW ORRISA-had published that one Puranchandra Mitra, MLA, introduced a resolution in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, demanding that India be renamed GANDHISTAN. Much -Much and more -more such proposals. But a close associate of Gandhi Jee----C. Rajagopalachari, who was that time Governor of West Bengal, had on February 28, 1948, pointed out, Gandhi had lived and died for the cause of religious harmony. Therefore, the establishment of Hindu-Muslim amity would be the only worthy satisfying memorial over his ashes And Ram Guha said, And so it still remains.
