First night in Iceland. Had a little nap then went for a walk to window shop. Could spend a lot of money here, especially at stores like Raven. Really awesome local art here in Reykjavik. Chuck Norris Grill is pretty cool and there is a pub upstairs. Made my way down Laugavegur street (which is the main thoroughfare) to the square at the end. Lots of motorcycles here and kids skateboarding. This is where I was mugged! I noticed someone following me for a block or so. I tried to look back to see who it was, but every time I turned they stayed in my blind spot. This went on for another ten steps or so. My instincts were kicking in big-time! This was going to end badly if I didnt do something, now. I spun around, looked him straight in the eye and asked in a very commanding voice: What the Hell do you want!? He jumped back a bit and starting shaking as he offered me his hand, saying hello. I took his hand still looking him in the eye which had a cut stitched over it. This guy was tall and lean with a weathered crack-head look to him. He was searching for something to say. I almost started feeling bad for him. Lol Stumbling through the words he asked me where there was an English pub around. (Do I look like a local?, I was dressed with a Canadian flag on my chest!) I did In fact see one awhile back so I told him to walk back two blocks and hang a left. He abruptly turned around and started walking the way I told him to. I love traveling! This is how you get stories worth telling!
