First of all I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. They are very very much appreciated. I always feel lost during this period and never really know what to say. Those of you that know me know that I tend to turn to writing when Im in these kinds of places. My sister was an incredible woman and although we didnt always see eye to eye we always remained connected at the heart where it counted. I could write about her for hours probably however I will refrain. I want to say that I was blessed in that I got to be a part of her life and that I got to spend time with her these past few months that really reminded me of family and what that word means. I love her, I love everyone that has ever touched my life. There is a good chance if you you are reading this then you are included in that group. Ill end this by sharing a poem I just wrote for my sister Teresa Ann Shaw. This Is Not Goodbye You may have closed your eyes And began your journey from this world But this is not goodbye You may have taken you last breath And let go of this life But this is not goodbye Goodbye is when one leaves Most likely never to return But you are still here with us Within us your love still does burn Some will remember; your humor or your glare None shall ever forget the way you cut their hair Always the way you wanted no matter what they did request We all were at your mercy as your barbers shop chair guest You always had a joke or two You were so happy share And I remember like it was yesterday You sitting in that chair The people that came for haircuts Were not clients, they were friends Stopping in to gossip Because you always knew who, what, where, and when Growing up as your baby brother There was nothing I could do No matter how clandestine It always got back to you By now I imagine Youve found a spot to rest your pole Searching for the elusive crappy In some heavenly fishing hole Or perhaps youve gone shopping Youll need a purse or two Im sure youll find a deal They never could elude you Seriously I believe your smiling As you read these words I write Knowing that I love you Even tho youre out of sight Now that you are home Among family and lost friends Give them all big hugs from us Let them know well see them again The last thing I want say Before I end this prose for you Is that I already miss and will Forever love you So this is not goodbye Just a loving way to say Take care on your journey Ill see you again someday ~Love Scott (aka Josh)
