First topic of debate, or at least some level of communication that can cause some dialogue about ppls views...yesterdays NFL game, Steelers vs Ravens created a particular situation that is being reviewed by the NFL. Coach for Steelers ended up on the field as a Ravens player was making a sideline get away toward a touchdown scoring opportunity. The NFL is not only going to discipline Tomlin (coach for Steelers), but possibly discipline the sideline official that did not penalize Tomlin for this particular act. Following link has portion of the conversation discussing discipline actions (espn.go/nfl/story/_/id/10052325/nfl-reviews-move-mike-tomlin-pittsburgh-steelers-discipline). Please read question below and post comments. Keep it clean people!!! My question to you is this, should there be more effort to review/evaluate referees performance in games, as far as youth soccer, with the idea of reviewing calls made or not made in games (overall performance) and hand out possible consequences or certain action that responds to questionable performance from officials? I feel a sense of accountability to the game, even at the youth level, is a two way street, and also a teaching tool to encourage improvement. When coaches or parents are out of line during games there are consequences handed out by the officiating crew of that game. Even youth leagues hand out consequences due to certain actions by parents or coaches. In any case, FIFA officials that have bad performances are reviewed by a committee of individuals and sometimes consequence to the point where they are sent home from an event, like the World Cup.
