First off, I sometimes feel like the only person whos read any Thomas Pynchon... other than The Crying of Lot 49. Second, I thought I was the only person who ever read Inherent Vice, until I read a few reviews panning it. Third, its the kind of book that takes a really quirky mindset to enjoy, and you have to be alright with not having everything wrapped up in a neat little bundle, so I liked it, but I could understand the critics who panned it. Then I overhear one of my coworkers talking about a trailer for this new movie coming out, and HOLY CRAP! The crazy thing, I think this is going to be excellent, and I dont typically like movies based on books Ive read. That makes two in one year.
