First official bluefin scouting trip of 2014. You cant catch most fish sitting tied to the dock, and with a highly migratory fish like the bluefin, this is especially true. Burning a bit of fuel to get a good sense of bait dispersion, water temps, and likely paths through our area is all part of the process. Some may think it a waste of time to leave the dock solely for one thing, but by spending even just a short time on another species, until the tuna have been found in workable numbers, isnt in the cards for the Dusky. Go big or go home!
