First published 1968 in ZAP Comics by cartoonist Robert Crumb... Toyota motors offer of $100 thousand Dollars to use the image in an Ad Campaign was turned down...... This image was seen on everything from Mudflaps to T shirts and Belt Buckles.... 1973 Crumb brought it to Court for Copyright infringement....it was found to be Public Domain ... 1977....... this ruling was reversed ... but the Damage was already done......He Lost Millions........ Anyone else remember the Little Big Footed Man ??
