First time in History: Dharna held against MP Andaman Sheekha The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, who is well known for organising Dharna against Administration, is now under fire. For the first time in the present MP’s tenure a Dharna was held against him this morning. Today 465 odd members of the State Part Time Education Employees Association (SPTEEA) accused the Member of Parliament of A & N Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray for allegedly putting their future at stake by demanding discontinuing the Pre-Primary sessions in the Govt. Schools. State Part Time Education Employees Association today staged a Dharna at Tiranga Park against Mr. B.P Ray, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Employees demanded that the MP should withdraw his letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of A & N Islands, in which he had demanded discontinuation of the Pre-Primary sessions in the Govt. Schools of these Islands. The members of the State Part Time Education Employees Association alleged that on discountenance of their 25 year long services by the education department they had approached the Member of Parliament for helping them but the MP couldn’t succeed even after his best efforts. “Then we approached Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC and he introduced us to the Lt. Governor along with our demands which in turn was bringing fruitful results in our favour but on seeing this Mr. Ray gave a letter to the LG and requested him to discourage the introduction of Pre-Primary session in the Govt Primary Schools and thus tried to put a full stop to our future,” alleged Mr. Mr. D. Krishna Rao, the President of SPTEEA while talking to ‘Andaman Sheekha’. Crying foul over MP’s letter the retrenched employees also requested the Lt. Governor to help them. “We had elected Mr. Ray as MP to solve our problems and to fight for us but things have gone other way round,” Rao added
