Wanted to give everyone a quick update on Mom: She has been diagnosed with a very bad case of pneumonia. This caused her to not be able to breathe on her own due to her left lung was non functional which is why they put her on the ventilator. Thankfully, the extremely high levels of Co2 the lung issue caused didnt affect her brain function according to the CT scan done. Right now the main concern is getting the pneumonia cleared up so that hopefully they can start weaning her off the ventilator. This might take a while due to the fact she does already have COPD. Right now she is primarily being kept sedated but when she has been brought out of it she has been able to open her eyes and respond to Laura & I which has been a huge comfort. The sedative Propofal they are giving her seems to keep her comfortable which is a good thing right now. I want to thank everyone for their kind words & prayers. These have been hugely appreciated by my family at this difficult time & I cant express what it means to me. Please continue to keep Mom in your prayers!
