First time to use the internet since Qatar! To my family: Im alive and doing well! Here is a super quick update on our time so far. We are in the very north eastern part of India and it is nothing like the India you think of. It is so wonderful. We are working with an INCREDIBLE ministry contact. The man who started this ministry also helped found the first Evangelical Free Church of India and is the sweetest grandpa figure to our squad. He rolls around in his wheelchair to every site we are working at and insist on being taken by vehicle to visit us throughout the day where ever we are in the villages. He is truly an incredible human. Our team is experiences intense warfare yall. Our team has already had to say goodbye to one of our beloved sisters for personal reasons. She begins her travel back home today alone so please be praying. Several of our team members have been sick. I spent last night holding a team members hair while she threw up just as another ones ear drum ruptured. We are going through a lot in they dynamic of our team and all that is occurring but Jesus is so good you guys. We have already worked in expanding the hospital here in Manipur, we assisted in a childrens retreat with over 2,000 eager and beautiful kids, we had the chance to spend an entire day in the kitchen with our ministry hosts and local helpers to learn about cooking and serving a group of 56 Americans in a village in India..its incredible. Today starts my first day of being a college professor! I will be teaching English Grammar in the Seminary school where some of our squad members are staying as well as working with some Master of Divinity students on their thesis research papers. One team is currently up in the mountains in remote villages delivering supplies and preaching the gospel. They return next week. Part of our squad is staying in traditional bamboo/thatched huts! This week we continue working in the Seminary, the hospital, the churches, doing VBS for surrounding village kids, going on medical outreaches, and essentially loving these beautiful people. So in love! Fun facts: I already injured myself and had the opportunity to spend some time in the minor OT room of their hospital here in this village (I got my finger stuck in a pulley system). It was super fascinating. Good thing that was the day we were already doing labor projects in the hospital. :)) We have an AWESOME translator named Sam who has been assigned to Team Flourish. Please be praying for him. He has his hands full :) Our first day off was spent going to the local market and then doing laundry out of buckets...that was quickly soaked by a rainstorm soon after finishing and is still drying. The food is FREAKING INCREDIBLE. Its like a perfect mix of Chinese and Indian. YUM. Anyways, I could obviously go on and on but please keep praying for our team and our squad. Some of our members are in the hospital right now and others are experiencing warfare like none before. God must have huge plans for us to be completing for His kingdom. Love to all! Be looking out for an incredible blog and pictures coming soon!
