First would like to comment on a what a tremendous job the Viking hierarchy did this off season in hiring an excellent staff. I was even more impressed by the humility of Spielman(who I have severely criticized in times past) to admit where he had failed. That said, I think Rick has picked himself up, dusted himself off, and is ready to start all over again. Id be surprised if the choices and moves made by this new Viking staff is not the best free agency/draft year the Vikings have had in some time! Grade A moves in re-signing Griffen, Cassel, & special teams players Dean & Sherels. Grade A also for signing Linval Joseph to sure up that defensive line. Ok hopefully we can sure up the other major areas like Middle Line Backer, Cornerback, Interior Offensive Linemen, 3rd down Running back with receiving skills(AKA Darren Sproles), and an additional Outside Linebacker with defensive pass skills(our experienced OLBs are getting a little long in the tooth). Trading back is an excellent Idea, especially if we cannot pick -up K. Mack or A. Barr at OLB. I think CJ Mosley will still be available in the middle of the 1st round. I think your article Wob on 2/22 on trading back with the Steelers(15th) or Jets(18th) is right on the money. Though I do see a potential trade with the Rams at the13th pick especially if the Rams trade their 2nd pick back down below our 8th pick. They might want to trade back up to get OL Robinson and it would not hurt the Vikings to put a little bird in the rams ear for a contingency if that scenario plays out. We have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds, if we could make one more addition in free agency and one more draft pick in the first 3 rounds for a total of five and then add depth with the rest of the draft I think we could be a serious contender not only in the black and blue division, but also in the NFC!!!
