Fished Hammond last night for about an hour from 8:30-9:30 at the campground boat launch. Caught & released a 1/2 dozen crappies in the 5-10 inch range. Also got a big, fat green sunfish that was guarding the shoreline rocks. All came on a chartreuse tube jig under a float. The slow retrieve wasnt working tonight. Went with a twitch, twitch, twitch, sit....twitch, twitch, twitch....sit type of presentation. Water was murky still with limited visibility. Lots of bugs coming off. If you want to have some fun on a fly rod, give Hammond a shot! Lots of panfish and some carp are up on top eating bugs. I ran into a few customers with mixed results out on the lake. Mostly smaller ones, but they did get a few bigger fish. Shiners worked for bigger crappie and a number of bass. Decent crappies, and a number of smaller ones, were taken on live minnows and various plastics. We had a few reports from customers on Tioga yesterday too. limited boat traffic out there and water is still murky/off color. Mixed results. Some struggled and others found a decent number of crappies holding on the timber. Good luck out there, were here till 6 tonight for all your fishing needs!
