Fit Tip: Try to avoid processed carbohydrates like breads and pastas. Instead stick to whole grains like brown rice, barley, oatmeal, quinoa, millet, bulgur and wheat berries along with legumes, low sugar/high fiber fruits and fresh vegetables. Time your carbohydrate consumption based on your activity levels. Use them for fuel during your most active times of the day like before a workout but avoid them later in the day when you are less active.
