Five Mooreland High School seniors will compete for the title of Miss Mooreland 2014, during the annual pageant this Saturday, Aug. 9, in the high school auditorium. Modeling and talent competition will be open to the public and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Admission price is $5. Contestants will be judged during a reception and interview session earlier in the day. Girls competing for the title include (in pageant order) Kaitlin Wrae Wommack, Rylie Jeanne Eller, Kadee Beth Kenny, Shelby Lynn Abbott and Kiana Yang Prather. Escorts will be dads of the contestants. Special entertainment during the evening will be provided by Chelsay Adams, Courtney Adams, C.D. Hall, Hannah Ruble, Alex Smith (2013 Miss Mooreland) and the Halleuliah Sounds. Phillip Ludwyck, a 1986 graduate of Mooreland High School, will serve as emcee. He is an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper and pastor of the Mooreland Assembly of God. Theme of this year’s pageant is “Gussied Up.” Pageant co-directors are Tammy Covalt and Michelle Ham. Contestants listed in pageant order with parents and talent are: Kaitlin Wommack, daughter of Trey and Valerie Wommack, will sing a medley to “Umbrella” by Rihanna and Gene Kelly’s “Singing In The Rain.” Rylie Eller, daughter of James and Donna Eller, will sing “Rumor Has It” by Adele. Kadee Kenny, daughter of Jeff and Lori Kenny, will perform a lyrical dance to “I Can Only Imagine.” Shelby Abbott, daughter of Alan and Donna Abbott, will perform a comedy skit entitled “Fleas.” Kiana Prather, daughter of Daniel and Shelly Prather, will perform a violin solo to the Chinese legend of “Butterfly Romance.” Pageant winner will be eligible to compete in the Miss Cinderella Pageant on the campus of Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, Friday, Oct. 17.
