Five feet. Thats all it was. I was about five feet from being pulverized by a semi tonight. A semi that just blew out of the kwik trip parking lot without stopping and almost broadsided me as I drove past on 21. All I could see were the incoming headlights filling the passenger side window. Had there been a passenger, he could have leaned out the window, and with a little stretching, touched the trucks grill. Somehow, I managed to swerve into the oncoming turn lane. Thankfully there were no cars coming that way. Also thankfully, the truck was angled a little eastward and I was westward bound because had he been directly perpendicular to me (and to all my Sophomores who had Geometry tests this week, see... important ;-) ), he would have at least clipped my rear passenger side and spun me around. You can never tell what the effects of a collision are going to be, but this would have been bad. He probably would have plowed right through my van. I know it, so I pulled into the walmart parking lot to calm down a little. Finally Im home now. So much luck involved. So many things had to go right for everyone to end intact. But those things did go right.
