Five men with links to the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) have been charged following a violent affray in Parramatta yesterday. About 4.45pm (Tuesday 30 September 2014), police on foot in Hassall Street came across a number of men fighting in a residential driveway. The men complied with the officers’ requests to stop fighting, and six were arrested. Police have been told the men arrived at the location in two cars about 4.20pm and immediately started chasing, kicking and punching each other. As a result of the melee, two of these men sustained cuts to the back of their heads. They were treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics. A seventh man, who was walking along Hassall Street when the others arrived, was also reportedly chased and hit in the back of the head. This man, aged 28, was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he is being treated for a fractured skull and 10-to-15cm cut to his head. He is reported to be in a serious but stable condition. The six arrested men were taken to Parramatta Police Station. Of these: * A 21-year-old man was charged with affray and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 1 October 2014). * A 24-year-old man was charged with affray, and driver not disclose identity of driver/passenger on request. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on 15 October 2014. * Three men – one in his late teens; the others aged 23 and 28 – were charged with affray and granted conditional bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on 15 October 2014. * A 36-year-old man was released from custody pending further inquiries. Police seized a number of items from the scene for forensic analysis, including a 50cm-long metal pole believed to have been used during the incident. Officers from Parramatta Local Area Command are continuing their investigations into this matter. They are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
