Five years ago I got an email from a book publisher in the U.K. asking if they can use a photo that I took in Camiguin as cover of a novel that they were publishing. They came across my photo while searching online for images of Philippine beaches, which is the backdrop of the novels story about an Englishwoman who falls in love with a Filipino in the 1970s. Of course it was a no-brainer for me. Id have let them use the photo for free. They did pay, of course. The book was published around this time. And with that I became the only Filipino photographer I know (thats the operative term) to have a photo as the cover image of an internationally published novel. I probably still am.
