Five years ago, a political columnist in Atlanta wrote that Oregon and Georgia might serve as an informal test case of their respective economic strategies. At the time, Oregon had just enacted Measures 66 &67, raising taxes on the wealthy and corporations to avoid further budget cuts. Georgia, on the other hand, was contemplating tax cuts in the face of budget shortfalls. That columnist, Jay Bookman, has just checked in to see which state has done better over the five years. Its not even close . . .
