Flags at half-mast over the Peace Tower and at the War Museum; and an outpouring of flowers, wreaths, and gratitude mounting in front of the War Memorial, my wife Sarah and I joined Senate colleagues to lay a wreath to honour the late-Corporal Nathan Cirillo, who was gunned down yesterday while standing watch over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Our prayers and thoughts - and gratitude - are with the Cirillo family and their friends and loved ones.
