* Flashback Friday * The only way you can grab hold to what God has for you in the now, which is the greatest chapter of your life, is to close and walk away from the past chapters, no matter how good or bad they were. ~ Carleatha Wells In the early 90s, several Dudley Product Reps noticed me and wanted me to be an International Platform Hairstylist for the company. I was asked to fly to Atlanta to meet Mr. Joe Dudley (left) at the B & B Hair Show. One of the Reps, Anthony Barber (right), wanted to sponsor half the amount for me to attend Dudley University for the training and place my hairstyles in a major hair magazine. My photo business card even made it to the hair show as an advertisement for the photographer who took the picture. Maybe, I was just young and naive, but surprisingly, I did not take that golden opportunity! When they told me, I would have to fly to Greensboro, North Carolina every 4th weekend of the mouth plus fly around the world as needed. I told them, I cant do that! I know you are probably shaking your head and saying something not nice about me. But fear and the fact that it was overwhelming for me to hear all of that at one time. And, why would they want to pick me out of all the other great hairstylists that they know? I didnt believe in myself back then and I didnt want the spotlight just on me. Well, I have matured and closed the door to those chapters because our God is the God of second, third, and infinity chances. Stay tuned!
