Flashback! My football life! Long time ago before I started supporting any football team passionately, I was an amateur player myself,I played footie in the hood with the local boys of my area,I was a laughing stock then, the skills of football wasnt born with me like some other kids in the area who can ball jog for 24hrs....anytime we march ourselves to the football pitch, everyone will be selected except me and some few otus, though I do feel bad but sometimes I use to be lucky, there will be a position in the team no one else is ready to fill, the goal keeper role, gladly I will run to the goal post in between the sticks,at least Ive been selected to participate in a football game....I can remember one day at school when a hot shot from a class mate twisted my wrist,as usual daddy will massage my body and warn me never to play football again..my mates laugh at me whenever I play,I run around the pitch like a headless chicken, trying so hard to get the ball and if I luckily did,I still dont do something meaningful with it....then I have a friend Anthonio MacGyth Da Cezar,he was a damn good player,I do meet him privately to teach me some football skills,he will always tell me to watch a lot of live football matches that from there I will learn, then I picked interest in the televised version of the game, there came my love for arsenal but throughout my secondary school,I was a funny player,I can remember one day when Anthonys senior bro slapped me cos I was spoiling their game, may his gentle soul rest in peace....I cried home that day,I never quitted,my passion for the game became so strong,as I grew older,I understood the game better,I started training as a defender,I was versatile and was also a utility player across the back line...I had another friend who is one one of the finest football Player alive..my friend Alani Olaide is a joy to watch,I wish I was like him,he will take on everyone on the pitch and score a solo goal,he has this inner strength and silently I was learning from him...gradually I upped my game, apart from being a no nonsense defender,my goal bound shots are unstoppable and the once I will unluckily balloon over take hours before the ball is recovered...I had another friend Nelson Oscar with the physique of Emmanuel Adebayor,I also learnt from him and many others of my area friends,I became an integral part of the street team,we played some competitive games then,I can remember the game at sango we lost 8-2....lol...I earned the nick name Gallas on the street, many goalies fear my bullet shots..., In 2010 I went to run a pre-degree programme at Obafemi Awolowo Uwhere I met this fantastic trio of IBO boys, Alex Azuka , Gallant Flexzy Ojunta and Jerry Charles Mexzy...this guys are fantastic characters,I learnt a lot of good And bad things from them, a football tournament was organized,so during one of the pre-tournament games,Flexzy discovered how tough I was as a tackler,he was a centre back,a commanding centre half,Jerry was our best player,he can dribble a ghost and score and there we had another speed demon Azurri Barrack O Zurri, our team was a complete one,my natural position as a right back was occupied so I filled the vacant left back role...I played every game except the first group Match game I wasnt around....Jerry was our match winner all throughout,we flogged every team that came our way till the finals,we were badly beaten 3-0, we begged the ref to end the game, weve lost but from there I discovered my true self on the pitch,a right footed left back just like Aziplicueta of Chelsea..... Then I joined the navy a year later, still forced my way into my division team, was an unused substitute in our lose against Beecroft division... An incident happened to me January 2013! I fell on a bicycle and Injured my groin...one of the worst day in my life.... to be continued...
