Flint Farmer was armed only with a cell phone when video footage caught Officer Gildardo Sierra beating him to the ground and shooting him seven times. Sierra fired 16 rounds. He admitted drinking multiple beers before killing Farmer under the mistaken assumption that he was armed. He had a fatal shooting on his record already. And Cook County prosecutors are refusing even to bring charges against him. Corruption has been rife in this case. Police waited five hours to give Sierra a breath test, and the city shelled out a settlement to try and keep Farmers family quiet. But this level of cruelty cannot be ignored. We owe it to Flint Farmer, and every person before him who died at the hands of a dirty cop, to challenge the cover-ups and brutality.
