Float like a buttercup, sing like im me...--Ok so think i finally figured it out Im like the Muhammad Ali of folksingers( or whatever, i use the term loosely)...Son House is like my Rocky Marciano (never defeated to even touched in his lifetime). Hank is kinda like Floyd Patterson...:) (i joke, he jokes...) Fill in the ive got a bunch more correlations in my head and rationale as to why...but ive already exausted the metaphor...WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PRIZEFIGHTER TO MUSICIAN/SONGWRITER --corollaries.... Like keeping it strictly songwriter you might say that townes was like roberto duran cause he took more abuse than anyone and stayed at the top of his game until he could take no mas?--or that Dylan was like sugar ray, never had to really take a punch but was fast on his feet and knew he exactly how to stay at the top and squeeze the most money and fame out of the dance. maybe tom russell or greg brown could be like foreman for finding new ways to re-invent themselves in the game and bring the big comeback... Or you could go Jazz, ( Miles would be sugar ray, Coltrane ALI, Mingus smokin joe...etc) or whatever genre just get creative and remember : there was a lot more parity in the fight game in the 70s and a lot more in just about any era in popular music than this one...:)
