...Flood Advisory for Aroostook County cancelled... A large ice jam remains in place on the Aroostook River from Crouseville to Washburn. However, river levels have held fairly steady through the day with just minor fluctuations. With cold temperatures to return this evening, the ice will likely freeze in place and water levels should continue to hold steady or fall slightly. Therefore, we have cancelled the advisory. Persons along the river should stay alert for rapidly changing water conditions. Ice jams are by nature chaotic and can move or release with little to no warning. It should be noted...there is also a large ice jam on the Saint John River in Saint Francis. This jam does not appear to be causing any flooding at this time and it too should freeze in place. Please let us know if you see any flooding or ice movement. Thank you!
