Florida Fields to Forks is so excited to be starting our Cocoa delivery...and we had a chance to do some more price comparing for you all. At the farm, our members can get wild caught Alaskan Sockeye salmon and wild caught Pacific halibut filets. We have two very special Alaskan fishing families, that we know personally, that provide us the fish for our members each year. We stock up so that our family of farm members have enough to get them thorough the year. At Florida Fields to Forks farm, wild caught 6oz. Alaskan Sockeye salmon filets are $6.25 each...at Vital Choice Seafood, the same size filet is $13.16. Our 8oz. wild caught Pacific halibut filets are $14.00...at Vital Choice Seafood a 6oz. halibut filet (2 ounces less) is $16.00. Did you know that in 2014, the USDA began allowing wild caught salmon to be shipped to China from Alaska to be cleaned, than back to Alaska to be packaged, and without ever having to disclose this to the consumer. We are all about KNOWING and TRUSTING our Alaskan fishing families. And we are so blessed that they share their fish with us. Just one of the many reasons our farm members share us with their friends and family.
