OCCUPATION PROFILE JOB FAMILY: BUSINESS AND FINANCE OCCUPATIONAL GROUP: BUSINESS OPERATIONS OCCUPATION: COMPLIANCE OFFICERS 13-1041 DUTIES The Commission expects its employees to be courteous and respectful while assisting Commission customers and stakeholders, ensuring each encounter is as positive as possible. Employees should promptly resolve questions or problems relating to the Commission, its programs and/or fish and wildlife resources. Employees should seek to gain public support for agency objectives and programs by serving Florida’s citizens in a positive and proactive manner and by listening to what the customer wants and striving to meet their needs. When appropriate, employees will explain the reasons for agency actions or decisions while communicating a consistent FWC point-of-view. Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services rules and FWC’s invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures. Work at FWC is cross-functional meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC’s organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed. Responsible for organizing, prioritizing, planning, coordinating, and effectively communicating priorities and procedures to co-workers Adheres to Office and Agency rules, regulations, and policies Demonstrates and maintains knowledge of the functions of all positions in the office and willingly assists with other tasks as needed or assigned Promptly and courteously assists staff, public, and license agents with questions and transactions concerning licensing, permitting, and related customer services. Serves as customer service point of contact for walk-ins, telephone, electronic, and other requests routed to the Office of Licensing and Permitting Responsible for data entry of applications, prints and releases licenses to customers Is knowledgeable of how different licenses and permits are processed Is aware of time limited and scheduled license or permit application periods and deadlines Monitors, reviews and responds to Ask FWC, ‘Tracker’ or other electronic requests by the expected completion date Receives and fulfills public records requests; coordinating with the Systems Team and/or OIT as required Responsible for review and approval/denial of license/permit applications Responsible for receiving, stamping, examining and distributing and/or responding to facsimiles and mail delivered to the Office of Licensing and Permitting Responsible processing and handling outgoing mail and shipments Monitors postage and mail supplies and coordinates with Financial Services Team when required MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to conduct research, utilize problem solving techniques, communicate effectively, use web based systems and applications, verify the accuracy of numerical data, recommend revisions to procedures, and to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments The State of Florida is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer and does not tolerate discrimination or violence in the workplace.
