Florida is so important; only have to mention 2000 & Bush-Gore. We all know what happened that year; but how many know - or remember, the whole story? Today most people blame a Conservative Court - for stopping the recount & awarding the Presidency to the candidate favored by the 5 Conservatives - over the one favored by the 4 moderate Justices. But the truth is - if Florida hadnt had a Republican Governor (Of course - who also happened to be the Conservative candidates brother); who had a right wing political appointee (Who also happened to be a Bush campaign official) supervising the election (And counting of the ballots) the election would never have gotten to the Court. A fair count - and then, if necessary. a fair re-count, would have continued to an orderly conclusion & the world would have seen that Vice President GORE carried the state (By a substantial number) and was the (actual) elected President. There would have been no IRAQ War, probably no Afghanistan war - and certainly no world wide recession. THAT IS HOW IMPORTANT FLORIDA WAS & CAN BE AGAIN IN THIS DIVIDED ELECTORAL MAP. We have a worse Republican running Florida today - far MORE right wing & extreme than Jeb Bush ever was. This is our chance to make sure that Gov Scott is not in office during the next Presidential election - that he is gone this November...and a decent man & former successful Florida Governor Charlie Crist is returned to that office.
