Flying a plane is a difficult job, especially as they get larger. Pilots of passenger airliners have many thousands of hours of experience before they ever get to fly the big birds. Everyone has to learn new things though, from pilots to doctors to groundskeepers, which involves training under supervision. Several of the MEA require very specialized training due to their conditions. Regardless of the airport, aircraft, or conditions, landing a plane is a complicated choreography. We as a civilization should be thankful to all of the pilots, airline personnel, aircraft & system companies, airports, and aviation governance bodies around the world for making something so complicated be so safe for so many of us every day.
