Folk Fest Saturday is a holiday in my family. It’s especially festive this year because it marks the 20th straight year that I perform a live set. It also marks the 20th anniversary that I met my beautiful wife The Almighty Heidi. I was on stage with John Couture on bass, Scott Pittman on drums and Donny McHale on guitar. Kevin Stevenson was supposed to play guitar but he had played for 8 straight hours and his hands were bleeding. While I was spitting lyrical heat, I saw Heidi dancing in the front row. When my set ended I made my way over to her where she was standing with Anne Desmarais and Heidi said “I don’t usually like hip hop but I dig your shit”. Boom. Married, kids, true love 4 eva. Please come celebrate the double 20th anniversary tonight at The Worthen at 11:59 PM! DJ Emoh Betta will on the wheels if he can pull himself away from the Market Basket rallies.
