Folks, a word or two about the current scandal involving the Miami Dolphins: First, as a lifelong, 100% Dolphins fan, I am appalled at the allegations, which if they are substantiated are absolutely reprehensible. I know other teams in the NFL have had their problems and I sympathize completely. Second, what strikes me is that no player at that level should have to endure that type of treatment, and that no matter a players performance on the field, there is no excuse for that behavior off the field as well. NFL chairman Roger Goodell needs to get out in front of this thing, hand down edicts to all the coaching staffs, and the coaches need to meet with their teams. Teams need to be told that this type of thing cannot stand. This isnt college and a fraternity house. This is the NFL. More should be expected of players, especially at that level.
