Folks, pay attention if you want to know how Vladimir Putin - TopicsExpress

Folks, pay attention if you want to know how Vladimir Putin thinks. He is of Viking descent and he is bent on projecting power in an expansionist, dare I say imperialistic, fashion. The name of modern Russia is derived from the Viking word Rus... This is what the Vikings named the vast new land they discovered west of the Caucus Mountains as they sailed down the Dniepr River seeking new trading partners (credit to the link below). Once downriver, the Viking Rus settled in towns with (what were then) indigenous peoples from the eastern steppes, the Slavic areas, Persia, and Asia Minor. Putin is an imperialist seeking expansion....to again conquer the territories formerly claimed by the Rus. Putin is a native of St. Petersburg, Russia...an area heavily influenced by the Vikings. Saint Petersburg is located in north western Russia--near the modern day Baltic states of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. Also, you should know that Putins grandfather was a cook for Vladimir Lenin and Putins father was a cook for Josef Stalin--the most evil dictator in the history of the world who was responsible for murdering over 20 million Ukranians during WWII. Stalin ordered the Cossacks to encircle and besiege the Ukraine for their crimes, real and imagined, of collaboration with the Nazis during Operation Barbarossa. Whats with the importance of the Crimean Peninsula to Putin? Stalin was born there and Putin thinks that due to Stalins birthright, Russia still owns Crimea. Ofcourse the Ukranian Parliament voting to not renew the Russian Navy base lease at Sevastopol in 2015 or 2016 fueled the fire. Why? Sevastopol, located on the Crimean Peninsula, is the Russian Navys only warm water port. Additionally, the February 1945 WWII conference between Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin, took place at the Black Sea resort city of Yalta located on the Crimean Peninsula. This Yalta Conference is where the three leaders of the Allied Forces carved out their spheres of influence in western and eastern Europe a mere four months before VE Day (Victory over Europe). To Putin, Crimea is inseparable from Russia given it was Stalins birthplace, the historical significance of Yalta to Russia, but most importantly because of the Russian Navy bases Black Sea Fleet that is headquartered in Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula. Putin shoots first and asks for forgiveness later (but only if he has to).
