Folks this food foot print makes no sense. And who is in charge of our bureaucracies...Progressives... Who are progressives? People who love socialism / communism...and they are the same progressives who claim YOU have to reduce your Carbon Footprint. Think about this...if US labor and production costs were reduced - not by cutting wages but by cutting the government costs on wages and production- labor in the US would be more competitive for these types of production jobs. Hence our food wouldnt need round trip tickets to China. Why when we know pathogens as per the CDC - a bureaucracy of health safety - can wipe out populations are we allowing the FDA -a food safety bureaucracy charged with protecting consumers from food borne pathogens- to approve such nonsense. Food is vital to the security of our Nation...since when are we ok with our food supply traveling from the US place origin to a processing plant clear around the globe just to have the processed food shipped back. DO YOU FIND IT COMPLETELY ABSURD the same FDA restricts via saftey regulations farmers from processing their own products (something they did without incident for generations) and adding such a regulatory cost burden they (farmers) find it cheaper to send OUR food to China adding a 14,000 mile carbon foot print. AlGore where is the outrage.... Elections matter and I pray this fall people wake up.
