“Follow Him!” Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy - TopicsExpress

“Follow Him!” Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Luke 4:1 It is interesting that when we have been in the very presence of God, filled with His Spirit after spending time with the Lord at home or in church, that as soon as we leave His presence in the place of our worship, we walk into dry places, the wilderness. Jesus was tempted in the wilderness for forty days by the devil, and we who are filled with the Holy Spirit will also be tempted by the Satan and tested by the Lord that His Spirit will remain with us. Luke 4:2 says that Jesus ate nothing, literally and symbolically. He ate nothing. He fasted and was not influenced by His senses or fleshly desires that would influence His mind, will or emotions, because He walked in and was influenced by the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus was filled with the Spirit that gave Him power to deny His flesh and speak the word of god to satanic attacks. Jesus said to Satan “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4). The spiritual food of God will pull down every stronghold and defend you from every attack of the enemy. The Word of God is a strong tower and defense. Use the Word and resist temptation. Be victorious in the time of testing. Prove what God has approved for you by proclaiming His Word over your life! Almighty God my Father, I thank and praise You for the victory I have following Jesus Christ, Your Living Word living in me. Lead me by Your Spirit to greater revelation in the time of testing and when I am tempted. In the in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ my Lord I pray. Amen!
