If you share your beliefs with billions of people - and the IQ - TopicsExpress

If you share your beliefs with billions of people - and the IQ range across those billions spans the entire IQ range, then it might be said that what you believe is not a matter of intelligence so much as it is a matter of something more basic - something that is shared - perhaps a basic psychological trait - or an ancient, embedded archetypal symbology. I would further submit that whatever it is, it derives from early man, as most of us carry a vestige to this date, perhaps through our DNA, so it must have a common/primal carrier or source. In my parlance of choice, I would term the source primitive mind or primitive mindedness which harbors deep fears the unknown and thus, fills in the blanks of what is unknowable by applying myth to provide a sense of certainty where certainty is not possible - sort of a gestalt effect, if you will - wallpaper for the mind. The underlying observation that so much of the worlds population has a need to believe something and to satisfy that need through different and oftentimes disparate sources is testament to my assertion that the chosen belief is to satisfy a deeply-felt need - but the actual belief may well bear no relationship to what is actual - especially where two beliefs are diametrically opposed to one another - all of which is testament to a fundamental understanding that it is not important what a person believes - it is just important THAT they believe - again, a function of and an attribute of primitive mind. The widely-accepted aphorism that if you dont believe in something you will believe anything derives from the the tacit cultural truth that we must believe in something or else - but as I say, it is born of primitive mind and only accepted by those who have a need to believe.
