Following are some of my final NLC 2014 thoughts (2013-2014 OPSU PBL--I hope you will feel free to chime in here as well!): 1) OPSU PBL has given notice that it is a national force to be reckoned with (particularly in accounting where we had Top 10 placements in all accounting events except 1); 2) Our 16 OPSU PBL students were some of the most respectful, friendly, and enthusiastic participants at NLC! We were SOOOO proud of their representation of OPSU and the Panhandle; 3) The support we have received from our family and friends back at home has meant so much to all of us. Thank you for being willing to follow our adventures and successes!! 4) The 2014 seniors Levi Adams, Meagan Bell, John Edward Costner, Idyy Medina, and Chelsea Montano will be SORELY missed! Their impact on OPSU PBL has been immeasurable. Whatever companies are fortunate enough to hire these folks will be blessed beyond belief. 5) The phrase standing on the shoulders of giants represents OPSU PBL today, as we would not be where we are without all of the work of the students who have come before and have now graduated. Our original members: Karen Lemire Goosen, Matt Goddard, Jennifer Lyn Goddard, Owen Larson, and Kim Tuttle were willing to help get this idea off of the ground 5 years ago. Our first two groups of NLC participants who have graduated: Virginia Baltazar, Tanner N Stephanie Wiens, Seth Jones, Clint Horton, Layne Greeson, Shevin Schramm, Leslie Knoblock, Jeremy Jase Richardson, Kyle Keylon, Reagan Karlin, and Quincy Luc were willing to serve as guinea pigs at these competitions and accelerate our learning curve of whats what at both SLC and NLC. You are all OPSU PBL GIANTS! And finally, 6) The Gaylord Opryland Resort is very nice, but it is a complete maze; and 7) 17+ hours of travel on a bus is BRUTAL!
