Following successful hosting of the 3rd Annual E-Payment for government Summit by E-payment Providers Association of Nigeria, participants believe continuous training of public sector operators on e-payment has been inevitable.  The summit was designed to bringing together top decision makers in the public sector in order to facilitate dialogue with industry experts and learn how innovation and technology in electronic payment can be implemented.Commenting on the summit, the principal accountant, Exp Control Unit, Office of the Accountant General, Kano State, said, “The entire programme is educative and I am highly excited to be present here today.“I want to thank E-PPAN, and its sponsors for organizing this summit and also appeal for continuous training for public sector”The E-payment Providers Association of Nigeria successfully hosted its 3rd Annual E-Payment for government Summit  themed “Increasing Government Revenue Generation using E-Payment Services” on the 8th & 9th of July, 2014 at the esteemed Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre, Abuja.The event was sponsored by VISA Inc, ITEX Integrated Services, Etranzact Limited, CitiSERVE Limited and was supported by the Central Bank of Nigeria, NIMC, Federal Ministry of Communication of Technology and Nigeria Inter Bank Settlement System (NIBSS).Giving a keynote at the event, Mr Sullivan Akala, executive director, Business development, of eTranzact who represented Mr Valentine Obi, the chief executive officer, said, “This is a summit we particularly look forward to every year. Since its inception, it has provided an avenue for key stakeholders to come together and set agendas that would truly move e-payment in Nigeria to the next level.“Every year at this summit, eTranzact has had several things to celebrate and even more this year as we have been working hard on different projects that will truly help achieve the different e-payment goals we have as a nation”.The Summit which was an exclusive invitation-only event for the top echelon government officials and experts in electronic payment space attracted over 200 senior government delegates and industry experts from over 50 organizations from the Federal, State and Local Government offices.Some of the organization represented include NAPTIN, Petroleum Equalization Fund Management Board, Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development, Department of State Service, Local Government Education Authority, Nasarawa, High Court of Justice, Kogi State,  Consumer Protection Council, NAFDAC, Kano State Pension Fund Trustees, Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, FERMA,  National Productivity Centre,  Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue, Local Government Service Commission, Abia State, Energy Commission of Nigeria, Federal Inland Revenue Service and many more top government officials from various MDAs.The highly interactive two days summit featured an exciting and technical presentation from top industry players like Director General of NIMC, Bar. Chris Onyemenam, Director of e-Government, Federal Ministry of Communication Technology, Dr. Tope Fashedemi, Head Program Management Office (FSS 2020), Engr.
