Following the meeting in the instance of Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu with Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and other stakeholders on the ongoing strike by the union which ended in deadlock, the union had directed Federal Courts, which includes Supreme Court, Court of appeal, Federal High Courts, FCT High Court to join the industrial action tomorrow, Thursday 17th, 2014. Others according to a circular obtain by our correspondent, dated July 15th, 2014, expected to join the strike are FCT sharia Court of Appeal, FCT customary Court of Appeal, National Industrial Court, Federal Judicial Service Commission, National Judicial Council and the FCT Judicial Service Commission. Our correspondent leant that the meeting with Minister of Labour with other stakeholders could not resolved the impasse as the union insist until and unless relevant government agencies respect the judgment of Federal High Court Abuja of the financial autonomy of state Judiciaries. It would be recalled that JUSUN in a communiqué issued at the end of emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of the union commenced indefinite strike Friday in all state Judiciaries, but urged Federal judiciary workers to be at alert at any time for a directives of the National secretariat to join in solidarity strike. The strike by the workers however cripples activities in Courts nationwide, with many stakeholders appealing for prompt resolution of the dispute to save the Justice system.
