Food For Thought.......What is the real big serious issues out there affecting everyone regardless of religion or creed who lives in Northern Ireland? Its not Flags & Emblems, its not the Marching Season, its not about the Chief Constable stepping down, the top issues affecting people living in Northern Ireland are FUEL POVERTY, HEALTH, FEAR OF CRIME. These are the issues that our MLAs need to be tackling in Stormont. Take the top issue Fuel Poverty...559 pensioners died last Winter as a result of not been able to heat their homes properly, an increase of 13% on the previous year...42% of households in NI are in Fuel Poverty (higher than anywhere else in the UK)...people have to choose whether to heat or eat...it has an effect on your health...DSD revealed that the average pensioner in NI has to survive on £100 per week less than pensioners in England, Scotland & Wales. Time all political parties in NI did something and start to unite and agree on something and that is TACKLE FUEL POVERTY NOW...it doesnt just affect our older people it affects everyone including single parent families...Think??
