Football athlete performance report from Coach Tomlin on yesterdays scrimmage games. Apologies for any misspelled names - this was transcribed from Tomlins handwritten copy! :-) 7th Grade Football Report: “C” Team - Keyon Kennedy stood out at the quarterback position. Tanner Newby scored on a big TD run. Other standouts were Kaden Goodboo and Nick West and Andrew Morgan on defense. “B” Team – Offensive standouts were QB Matthew Pierce completing several passes to Lane Tuggle and Gabriel Rodriguez. Defensive standouts were Daniel Lindley, Cameron Tucker, Izak Terrazas, and Jordon Grimes. “A” Team – This team dominated Stephenville both sides of the ball. RB duo of Preston Garrett and Kieren Davis were great with Davis scoring on a big run and QB Kaleb Edmunds completing passes to JJ Carroll, Brandon Gormott, Justin Whittenburg, and Samuel Garcia. The entire offensive line had great pass blocking! Defensive standouts were JJ Carroll, Eli Hartley, Brandon Garrett, and Daniel Garcia. The entire defense did great! ‘A’ Team held Stephenville to ZERO touchdowns! 8th Grade Football Report: “C” Team – Played great led by the rushing attack of Colby Johnson and Edgar Tejeda. Colby had to TDs and Edgar had one. Hayden Michels completed 5 out of 7 passes. Kholman Davis had a great game both offensively and defensively. Great job, C-team! “B” Team – Great effort! Players of the night were Khalil Thompson and Cole Carroll “A” Team – Played great from beginning to end. The entire defense stood out. Stephenville broke two long plays, but both would have been called back anyway due to penalties. On offense, Brandon Hinojos led the team in rushing; Ryan Goodwin and D’ija Kennedy led the passing attack. Ryan threw the ball well all night. TDs were scored by Ryan Goodwin an D’ija Kennedy. Standouts: The entire offensive line and all linebackers. Player of the night: Jared Singleton – the smallest kid on the field had a huge impact on offense and defense!
