Footsteps in the sand/ Stpoy v piesku One night I had a dream. I dreamed that I was walking along the beach in the sand with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to me, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of my life. This really bothered me and I questioned the LORD about it: LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, youd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I dont understand why when I needed you most you would leave me. The LORD replied: My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you, During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you. ************************************************** Jednej noci sníval sa mi nezvyčajný sen: Pán a ja - my dvaja len, sme sa brali spolu sami popri mori piesčinami. Pred zrakom mi vyvstávali príhody a udalosti z celej mojej minulosti; pri každej sa za mnou tiahli stopy v piesku dvoje: Pánove a moje. Posledný keď výjav mihol sa mi, obrátil sa zrak môj vzad za tými v piesku šľapajami, a pozorujúc tak ich sledy, vidím, že ich kedy-tedy bol len jeden rad; druhý vytrácal sa kdesi, a to dokonca práve vtedy, keď stíhali ma strasti, biedy a útrapy a žiale, a neboli veru malé. Čo si myslieť o tej veci? „Ako je to možné, Pane,“ vravím, „veď si prísľub dal mne, že, ak za Tebou sa dám, budeš so mnou vždy a stále, neopustíš ma – nuž ale vždys´ ma nechal, keď mi Teba práve najviac bolo treba. Ako pochopiť to mám?“ „Moje drahé, drahé dieťa,“ povedal mi na to Pán, „večnou láskou milujem ťa, nikdy neopustil som ťa, nikdy teba nenechám; bol som s tebou po všetok čas prešlý, a že za tie smutné doby bied stôp, len jeden zavše vidíš sled, to ťa vtedy moje ruky niesli.“
