Winning is feeling the wind come off the lake. Winning is long rain after the drought. Winning is tears that send you into laughter. Winning is a flower that makes you cry. Winning is three squirrel in an Appalachian pot. Winning is having a friend to share that meal with. Winning is ending sentences with prepositions and knowing how it does not matter. Winning is a dandelion pushing through the crack of a pavement. Winning is not smoking crack. Winning is seeing milkweed open and flutter by. Winning is having hope for others. Winning is helping them. Winning is having someone to help you. Winning is craving not. Winning is the little you’ve got. Winning is what lies beyond your want.
