For India to become a nation that bridges the urban-rural divide, provides quality drinking water and energy to every individual and does not deny education to anyone, it needs more innovators and creative thinkers said Dr A P J Abdul Kalam while addressing innovators, students and other participants at the third International Conference on Creativity and Innovations at Grassroots held at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Kalam talked about the link between innovation and creativity. “Innovation has to become a part of our life and creativity is a process to improve our ideas and refine our work. Invention and innovation have come from creative minds and the forces of the universe work to help those minds achieve their goal. The culture of excellence is achieved not by accident, but by a process.“ The four-day event also marks the 25 years of Honey Bee Network, which has been working for individual innovators and traditional knowledge holders. IIM-As professor Anil Gupta, founder of Honey Bee Network, said that while our generation learned to live with problems unsolved, our children did not agree to live so and have become innovators.
