For Students: Volunteer Opportunity Alyeska Best Beginnings Third Annual Health Fair for children ages 0-8 The event is at Pioneer Park in the round Civic Center building, on Saturday, September 14 from 11-3pm. Volunteers should arrive by 10:30am and can leave at 3pm. We will train you for whatever job you are assigned. Most of the jobs are straightforward and the environment is rather low key, for example: greeting families, serving lunch to the volunteers, helping families fill out paperwork, counting families who attend the event, running errands, etc. Parents and children ages 0-8 come to the fair for basic child health screenings including Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure, hearing and eye screenings, immunizations, dental screenings etc. There are resource tables located on the mezzanine levels and door prizes galore for families who attend.
