For The Westerner to suggest that holding my recent Pine Rivers Water Forum on a weekday afternoon was designed to keep people away is deceptive. This is an important issue to Pine Rivers residents and business owners, which is exactly why I convened the Forum at my own initiative; why I invited Minister McArdle to address residents at the Forum; and why I invited both Unitywater and Council to address the Forum (both declined the invitation). If I wanted to hide from this issue, I wouldnt have held the Forum in the first place. I will address the issues that were raised at the Forum, and will continue to act on behalf of residents and business owners on this important issue. In 2013 I held a Cost of Living Forum on a weeknight, so this year I chose to hold this similar Forum on an afternoon to allow those who cant attend an evening function an opportunity to attend.
